Who knew you’d find excellent Thai food in Altoona. Aoy Thai is the place for well-prepared, generous servings of traditional Thai dishes. Start with edamame (with extra sea salt) and the chicken larb. For entrees, I recommend the chicken Panang curry and the Thai basil fried rice with pork. If you enjoy spicy food then ask for at least medium-spicy level. The ginger tea (which I poured over ice) cools everything down. The service was excellent.

Wow. This place exceeded my expectations! The crispy duck was amazing. Portions sizes are very generous. The best Tom Kah soup I have ever had! I haven't enjoyed this level of customer service in a long time. We're not local, but travel through here every month or so....I can't wait to go back!

What looks like an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall. Is a really great Thai place! Absolutely clean with cheerful color on the walls and fresh flowers on the tables. We ordered appetizers and some curry and everything was just perfect. I asked and learned that you could bring your own bottle of alcohol for a $1 per person tipping fee since they don't have like a license. I found the seats a little hard so next time I'll bring something to sit on

I just love this place. The food is terrific, but it’s the vibe I come back for when it comes to takeout. Example: i order veggie drunken noodles (a JAM). “It has eggs, is that ok?” (Testing if I was vegetarian) Love it. Had the rolls (first item on the app list), mango and chicken salad (super), and drunken noodles (best for 100 sq miles). If you’re on the fence, order and enjoy your life.

While I'd normally give him a five-star rating, the shrimp I received was overcooked, crispy, and seemed like it came pre-buttered from a supplier rather than being homemade or in-house.

Went here for my birthday and had the best meal! The food is always so fresh. The owners are the sweetest. Thank you!
- Martain Ferguson (2 months ago):
My wife and I have been here a number of times and have enjoyed everything we've had. Every dish, such as the Drunken Noodles, Fried Rice, Curry, Pad Thai and Pork Buns have been delicious. The owner and staff are always very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere may be simple, but this is definitely a place worth stopping.

Rare find in Central PA … driving to DC and came across this restaurant on Google. Purely on ratings, liking Thai we thought we would give it a try for dinner. We’ve been to amazing high-end Thai (which this is not btw) and everything we had here was 5-star fantastic. Service was very quick and efficient (not necessarily chatty) and smiles all around. Food and drink were served quickly and hot. Quality of food (we had curries) was excellent and above expectations. Be aware the place is very small (only 18 seats at present, though there is room for more) and it has a little bit of a carry-out vibe the way it is laid out. Still, very worth the visit if you like Thai. Try the Infinity Love Curry!
